Convert SRW2048 software to SG300

I believe the SRW series is the same basic hardware as the SG300 series.

Is there a way to upgrade the firmware on the SRW series using the SG300 firmware?

The SG300 firmware is much more usable. Also I'd rather have consistency as we have the older SRW2024/48 and the newer SG300 switches.

Hi Bob,

If I am not mistaken their wafer/Silicon is different and some of the hardware is different as well.

There is a firmware upgrade for some of the SRW series Switches, which makes their web GUI look the same as the SG-300 series, but the functionality is not the same.

If you were to put the SRW side by side with the SG-300 and open them up you will see they are different

You are spot on.

the 300 series is a replacement and hardware and software  refresh of the older SRW product line.

So that if you purchased order p/n SRW2008  the refreshed version here in the USA is order p/n SRW2008-K9-NA

We made the change in the ordering p/n for consistancy reasons  so that if you ordered SRW2008 in the past you now order SRW2008-K9-xx

where xx is a region code for both regulatory and power requirements. 

SRW2008 was a linksys product whilst the replacement,  SRW2008-K9-NA, for example is a Cisco product that now supports L3 switching, IPv6 and a supportable CLI and a whole bunch of new features.

The SRW2008-K9-NA has a cisco internal p/n of SG300-10.

Bob , please do not order the older SKU, but  order the replacement SKU that has a K9 in the p/n. These newer or refreshed part numbers  also come with a tremendous warranty, so check the datasheet for that warranty information.
