Hello.
I have a stack of (3) SG500XG-8F8T switches in a stack. The switches are stack 1 to 2, 2 to 3, and 3 to 16 (using ports 15 and 16 of each switch SFTP+ ports. The switch was setup in Native stacking mode, but small business support recommended I change it to advanced hybrid.
When I have a syslog server setup, we seem to be having a reoccurring problem with the stack ports going down. Below is what I am seeing in the logs.
Currently I only have 1/3 of our HyperV Host using this new stack (with a new SAN).
A Host is plugged into port 1 on switch 1 and 2 for iSCSI. Port 5 on switch 1 and 2 for Live Migration.
The "flapping" was happening much more frequently. It seemed to get better when turning Spanning Tree Protocol off, but it did not fix it.
Switch 1 (the master) never goes down. Just the backup and the slave.
All switches in the stack are running the 1.4.0.88 firmware and 1.4.0.02 boot code.
Any ideas on why this is happening? I have a ticket opened with small business support but it doesn't seem to be moving to fast.
