Hello everyone, I am the Systems Admin at LDM Media and am trying to get some support for one of the SRW224G4 managed switches we have in our rack.
The issue is as follows:
any endpoint connected to the switch is assigned an IP address in the range of 169.254.154.XXX regardless of the switches set IP range, the second issue is that I cannot access the webview management interface through the default IP address 192.168.1.254 (and I have tried to use the last IP in the range set by the router 169.254.154.254, to no avail)
Can anyone assist me in regaining control of this supposedly smart switch?
Thanks in Advance,
Lachlan McCahon

Hello Lachlan,
If the ports will not respond, you will have to console the switch. In order to do this, set up a hyper terminal or putty with a 38400 baud, data bit 8, stop bit 1, parity none, flow control none. You will need a female to female serial cable.
If you're unable to console the device, there is not any other way to reset the unit.
If the console fails, you may call the SBSC and reference the serial number to verify entitlement for replacement.

Thankyou for the very prompt response Thomas.
Am i correct in assuming that i will need a DB-9 Null modem cable for this device? And is this cable available from Cisco?
Lachlan.

Regular serial, not null modem.
