Certain devices not being discovered by CSPC

Hello,

I am running into an issue and was hoping that the community may be able to provide some guidance.  I have recently been tasked with overseeing our SNTC Portal and CSPC, and have ran into a few hurdles.

My first issue is that there are devices that aren't being picked up by CSPC.  I know that the subnet is being scanned, because other devices from the same /24 subnet are being discovered and inventoried.  I logged into the GUI of the CSPC, and no devices are being excluded.  As of right now I've only detected this on LAN switches, but it's very possible that it's happening on routers and other devices as well.

Tying in with the LAN switches, when I did an "All Inventory" export from SNTC, and sorted the *.csv by device type, it looks like quite a few of our devices are being inventoried incorrectly.  Just looking at our LAN switches, there are about 15-20 devices that were categorized as "3rd Party - Riverbed" devices, when they are in reality switches.

Lastly, it looks like our CSPC is way outdated, and I am not entirely sure on how to properly upgrade since I am very green with the CSPC GUI.  We are using 2.3, and from what I was able to dig up. anything prior to 2.3.8 will require a fresh install.  I was hoping that somebody could potentially point me to a guide of doing a fresh install correctly, or provide some helpful notes.

Thanks in advance!  Let me know if you need any further information and I will be happy to provide anything that I am able to.

Hi,

You can start from here:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/cloud-systems-management/common-services-platform-collector-cspc/tsd-products-support-series-home.html

Download software will provide latest OVA and Install and upgrade tab will have step-by-step procedure which will help you further on new installation.

Thanks,

Supriya
