I have been seat-of-the-pantsing my Cisco orders and have been learning a lot. One thing I am still confused on as a reselling organization is the proper way to purchase SmartNet and register it to a customer we support. I have been buying mostly for in house but starting to ramp up our reselling to customers. My question is what is the proper way to register the smartnet contracts in a way where the ownership is the customer but I maintain it? So for example I sell customer a switch with smartnet, they decide to go with another vendor down the road, how can I be sure that switch contract is registered to the owner and not the reseller?
