Hi to all!

I need a switch with at least 80 fibre channel interfaces. I analyzed the N5K-5596 and it seems that he can meet my needs. My question is: can I use all the interfaces of this switch as FC?

Best Regards!

Cisco Nexus 5596UP Switch

The Cisco Nexus 5596UP Switch (Figure 3) is a 2RU 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and FCoE switch offering up to 1920 Gbps of throughput and up to 96 ports. The switch has 48 unified ports and three expansion slots.

You'll need three N55-M16UP expansion module.

Why have you chosen for the N5K in stead of simply two times a 9148 that is probably a more economic solution?

Chosen because my client wants to have at least 80 FC interfaces on the same switch.

I also thought the MDS 9506 FC with two modules. I will mount the sets and choose the best cost-benefit.

Thanks for the ratings marcos.
