Hi,

Can anyone confirm if Cisco Nexus 93180YC-FX (Model-N9K-C93180YC-FX-24) can carry the FC traffic coming in from Connectrix DS-6630B Dell SAN Switches.

FYI: We are configuring storage metro cluster between the two DC’s  There will be stretched network and SAN Fabric between DC’s and both DC’s will act as single identity (Active-Active config).

Regards,

Daljeet Singh

I have deployed 5K Metro cluster with FC. but not done Nexus 9K, as per the document yes they do, make sure you use right OPTIC- FC 8G - SW  or LW based on the requirement.

93180YC-FX are capable of supporting 1-, 10-, or 25-Gbps Ethernet or as 16-, 32-Gbps Fibre Channel ports[1], creating a point of convergence for primary storage, compute servers, and back-end storage resources at the top of rack.

Thanks. Its 16G Long Wave SFP

Thanks Balaji. Ok if they do support SAN traffic, do we need to limit any bandwidth or specific config at port level on Brocade SAN Switch and also on the Cisco Nexus 93180YC-FX (Model-N9K-C93180YC-FX-24) to form ISL between

both the switches. As we need to make a SAN Streched fabric.

As per my deployment with BROCADE SAN or cisco just simple ISL should work - they are 8GB - and they connect to SAN, so there is no need for bandwidth limit here..because this is very crucial server storage network.

Thanks Balaji, One more question :

Do we also need to ensure NPIV is enabled on Brocade SAN switch – 6630 and Nexus switch with NPV enabled ?
