Ficon port addressing for MDS 9506

Hi,

I'm configuring a MDS 9506 as a mirror of a MDS 9513 because my customer is preparing a data center migration.

I've found that 9506 has a ficon address limit of 153, but I need to address ports up to address 230.

Do you know if there is possible to increase this limit?

Hello Rafael,

On Cisco MDS 9506, there are Implement and unimplement ports

Implemented ports: ports assigned by default up to 153

Unimplemented ports: 154 through 253, this can be assigned on demand

use the command:

switch# show ficon port-numbers assign slot xx

switch# show ficon port-numbers

switch# conf t

switch(config)# ficon slot XX assign port-numbers 153 - 230  < ---  depending available ports

I tried to do this that you say but the problem is that this port-numers are out of the assignable range.

switch(config)# ficon slot 4 assign port-numbers ?

  <0-153>           Enter port numbers

  <0x0-0xffffffff>  Enter port numbers

switch(config)# ficon slot 4 assign port-number 145,120,77,121,126,83,151,144,154

                                                                                            ^

Invalid value/range at '^' marker.
