Hi,
I have a N5K switch and there are 2 zones configured between servers and 2-storage controllers ports and it is working good.
Now, I have configured 2 new zones for new file and share sever port with the storage controller 2-ports
So I have 2 new zones.
But The new zoning configuration isn't working and the storage controller can't detect the file and share server port.
When checking show zoneset active vsan 1
I found the following output
N5K-2# show zoneset active vsan 1
zone name Server2 vsan 1
* fcid 0x370006 [pwwn 20:00:00:25:b5:00:00:0d] [Server-2]
* fcid 0x370080 [pwwn 20:12:00:02:ac:00:9b:9d] [CTRL-0_Port16]
* fcid 0x3700a0 [pwwn 21:12:00:02:ac:00:9b:9d] [CTRL-1_Port15]
zone name Server3 vsan 1
* fcid 0x370007 [pwwn 20:00:00:25:b5:00:00:5c] [Server-3]
* fcid 0x370080 [pwwn 20:12:00:02:ac:00:9b:9d] [CTRL-0_Port16]
* fcid 0x3700a0 [pwwn 21:12:00:02:ac:00:9b:9d] [CTRL-1_Port15]
zone name HP-NFS-01-TO-CTRL-1_Port15 vsan 1
pwwn 20:00:00:90:fa:ba:02:fc [HP-NFS-01]
* fcid 0x3700a0 [pwwn 21:12:00:02:ac:00:9b:9d] [CTRL-1_Port15]
zone name HP-NFS-01-TO-CTRL-0_Port16 vsan 1
pwwn 20:00:00:90:fa:ba:02:fc [HP-NFS-01]
* fcid 0x370080 [pwwn 20:12:00:02:ac:00:9b:9d] [CTRL-0_Port16]
There is no star beside the file and share server port as all above
Is it normal or the zoning here is not configured good ?
Thanks
Haitham

Hi
Can you please post sho flogi database ...
Is there a eventually a typo, and therefore a mismatch of the pwwn ?
If the entry in the zone doesn't show a "*", this pwwn has not logged in.

it simply means that host HP-NFS-01 has not done a flogi ?
How is your host connected to N5K ? is the N5k port a FC port and enabled ?
Do a show flogi database vsan 1

Hi Walter,
Thanks for your reply
yes it is connected to the N5K on a fc port and it is enabled
also show Flogi DB show that its pwwn is logged through the connected fiber port

Hi Walter,
Thanks a lot for your reply
We have configured the wwnn instead of pwwn by mistake. correcting it solved the issue
Thanks
