Hi
First I have to say this is not the first time i'm working with these old switches and not the first time i've configured LACP on them.
So I did the config on the blade switch , enabled LACP, the uplink ports as members and tagged.
Created port-channel on the nexus side.
when i try to bring up the ports on the Cisco Nexus 5k this is the errors I get. this is fot the HP blade:
2013 Jun 11 14:44:03 dist4 %ETH_PORT_CHANNEL-5-PORT_SUSPENDED: Ethernet171/1/7: Ethernet171/1/7 is suspended

I had one port-channel for a switch that came up with no problems. I compared the config but could not identify the issue.the config is very similar.
has anyone encountered these errors or similar before? if yes, what am I missing? and also what does it mean when it says "
Member channel group id: 31-1, does not match PC group id: 31-10) ?
Thanks,
Mary

Hi Mary
I had issues with LACP between N5Ks and HP blade-switches. LACP fast rate on the N5Ks solved the problems for me:

Marcel,
Thank you for your reply.
I tried again right now with the command you suggested but still no luck.
we have so many more hp switches with the similar config that are working fine. I just can't figure out why these 3 switches are having issues.
my current config on the member port is as below
interface Ethernet171/1/36
description WINBL1-NFS2:P2
lacp rate fast
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk allowed vlan 410,412
spanning-tree bpdufilter enable
flowcontrol send off
channel-group 30 mode active

Did you find the cause of the issue? I'm experiencing the same on an 5548UP with 5.1(3)N2(1c).

Hi Andras,
No Unfortunately I didn't.
I opened a ticket with Cisco and Cisco could not figure out the issue as well and they blamed it on the HP switches but they could not help me with the HP side. we have so many of these in our environment that are working fine with lacp.
For now I just uplinked them as access ports which has no redundancy as I had no choice.

What kind of HP blade switch? VirtualConnect?
Did you happen to connect the two member-links to different blade switches?

This could be. In my case it turned out a storage guy wanted to check something, and crossconnected different systems.
