I have a customer who needs to erase the configuration on their Supervisor-1 cards prior to shipping them out. We have a couple of 9513swhich are not in production, yet. Can we plug the Supervisor-1 cards into the 8513sjust long enough to erase the configs off of them?
All of the Cisco documentation states that we cannot plug the Supervisor-1 cards into the 9513s.
The 9509s are in production and we would like to avoid using them for this task if possible

No. The supervisor-1 cards will NOT work in a 9513. You need to either use a 9506 or a 9509.
Now, this next part I'm not 100% sure on and I'm hoping someone here in the Support Community can verify my next statement.
Why not remove the CF card off of the supervisor-1 cards are put it into a CF reader/writer and format it. I know that the startup
configuration is storage in a binary format but I'm not sure if that binary data is on the CF or not.
Hope this helps.
