Hi all,
As far as I can tell, there's no way to do VLAN mapping/translation in the 300 or 500 series switches like you can do in some Catalyst platforms. Considering that you can set a VLAN based on EtherType, MAC address/OUI is it feasible that setting the VLAN ID based on the existing VLAN ID might work its way into the feature list in the near future? What's in place already is effectively pushing and popping VLAN tags on and off frames on egress/ingress - what I'd like is a 'swap' function.
I appreciate that this is commonly used in Metro Ethernet deployments but the same applies to QinQ which is also a feature in both the 300 and 500 series units. Is there anyone here with any insight into the product roadmap that might be able to give us some further info? Is there an official way to submit a feature request for the Small Business Series products?
Thanks,
Adrian

Hi Adrian, you're correct, this product does not support VLAN mapping.
To make a feature request, you can call the SBSC and create a ticket asking for a feature request.
In addition, I can ask the product management if this is a feature that may be considered for future roadmaps.
It would be an interesting addition and I personally don't feel it is too intrusive on the bigger brother switches (Catalyst).

Thanks Tom,
I'll try your suggestion with the SBSC but if you are able to find anything else out that would be great.

Hi Adrian, I did have this conversation and it is not on the roadmap.
