hello all,
i recently bought a cisco small business SG300-28 28-Port Gigabit Managed switch. i updated the firmware and the ros to 1.3.5.58.
i realized the flash size is getting full. i therefore want to be able to boot both the ios and the startupconfig from a remote ftp or tftp server.
kindly advice me with procedures. from the information below, is it advisable to delete image-1 since image-2 is the active boot image.
secondly, is there a way to upgrade the ram and flash of the switch?
lastly, how to can implement loadbalancing in a L3 mode.
please treat it as urgent.

Hello,
My name is Kristian and I am one of the engineers from the Small Business team.
- Unfortunately, there is no option for the SG300 to boot the image or startup config from a remote server.
- It is not recommended to delete image 2 as it serves as backup, in case there is a problem with image 1.
- There is no option to upgrade the ram or flash on this unit.
- Can you clarify a bit more what kind of load balancing you are looking to implement so I can answer your question more accurately.

Thank you Kris for the response, am looking at implementing HSRP, VRRP or GLBP on the SG300 switches.
-I realize VTP is not available, is there other options or vlans has to be created manually on all switches?
-how do i implement intervlan routing? because i realize also that ip routing is not available.
Enoch.
