CB350 - NLB Static ARP entry with Multicast Mac impossible?

Hi everyone,

we are experiencing a problem in our cb350 deployment. We are running a Microsoft NLB Cluster in IGMP multicast mode.

IGMP is setup properly. The Mulitcast groups are being learned and the multicast mac adress groups are also being learened.

However, when i try to add the static arp entry to the list using the multicast mac, it says that it's only possible using a unicast mac, however since this is the pourpose of this arp entry that is not possible.

is there any workaround?

CB350-CoreSwitch(config)#arp 192.168.14.212 01:00:5e:7f:0e:d4 vlan 1
ARP MAC address must be Unicast address.

I believe this is not possible using CLI but it will be using web interface. Make sure you are in Advanced mode and go to the Multicast section

Thats only a mac address table entry, not a arp entry, that table is already being filled using igmp querying.

Actually the place to add the ARP is different. But it does not accept the broad cast ARP anyway

*multicast mac not broadcast.

But yeah looks like the cb series is not capable of binding a multicast mac to a unicast ip in the arp table.
