CBS110-8TD amber light

Hi form Greece, my first post here. Nice to know that there is a community helping each other. At the end of the day, it is a relief even if you don't find a solution.

I just bought two CBS110-8td Cisco switches to replace (upgrade) two respective Linksys ones. The Linksys worked just fine, however, I considered the Cisco purchase as an upgrade.

I took off the first Linksys switch, I plugged the utp cable of the cisco and all the connected devices went out of Internet. The same with the second one, in another room.

Let me explain a little bit more: it is a domestic installation, I have a rack with a draytek router giving to a 16ports Cisco switch which gives to a patch panel and from the patch panel to rj45 outlets in the various rooms. The utp protocol is 568 B both in the patch panel and the outlets, I checked it.

I repeat that I had no problem at all with my previous switches, one kuwes, two Linksys operating at the specific installation. There is also no problem at all when I plug whatever device (smart TV, access point, camera, laptop etc) in any of these two outlets, they are working perfectly taking IP.

But when I plug whatever of the two Cisco switches CBS110, no internet at all. The amber light turns on and remains steady. According to the user guide, that is a cable problem, I suppose that it means the domestic installation. But it can't be because everything else (whatever device) works just perfect, ten years now I had no problem at all. I also tried different ports and different cables but no luck.

A the same time, if I plug the switch cable directly to the main Cisco switch in the rack, everything is perfect. So, it becomes clear that there is something in the cable installation that affects them. But what and why? Why only the Cisco switch? Moreover, it is obvious that I cannot destroy the house so that to change the whole utp installation for two Cisco switches.

Any ideas for the reason? Or I have to find a way to return the switches?

Thanks in advance for whatever input
