CBS250-8T-D: switchport customer and switchport general

What is the purpose of switchport customer and switchport general in interface configuration mode of an CBS250-8T-D?

• General—The interface can support all functions as defined in the IEEE 802.1q specification. The interface can be a tagged or untagged member of one or more VLANs.

Genaral is just a normal trunk interface or access interface. 

• Customer—Selecting this option places the interface in QinQ mode. This enables you to use your own VLAN arrangements (PVID) across the provider network. The device is in Q-in-Q mode when it has one or more customer ports.

Customer mode would be used for Q-in-Q.. This allow for  Vlan ID conversion in order to not create conflct with VLAN ID. If you have 2 Customer and they use the same VLAN ID, you can convert their VLAN ID to something else and keep their VLAN ID untouch.
