Hello,

We are considering upgrading all of our 2960 Switches to Cisco 1000 series switches.. There is a statement about the C1000 series switches that state they support up to 250 users... We need to know exactly what that statement means?   Please elaborate in detail   We have more than 250 users on the 2960 Switches but we dont have more than 250 users on any segment of the network.

Cat 1000 is entry level switch, If the users are more than 250+ users (depends on budget) - i would suggest to look for Cat 9200 (if only Layer2)

if you looking Layer 3 and more advanced then look for Cat 9300 best of the breed as access switch.

We have 30 2960 8 port switches and we have 24 2960 24 port switches that we want to upgrade they are spread out over 8 different distribution areas.. Can we replace these with C1000 series switches??/

Thank you

YES / NO - depends on what feature you were using on Cat 2960 ? what kind of bandwidth requirement.

What is your Distribution switch ?  Ddo you have Budget Concerns ?  what is your Internet Speeds ?
