Hi there.
I recently encountered unstable network connection through my Cisco switch(Cisco Business CBS110-24T-D). I think the problem is with the switch.
I am using the switch in our house where the switch is located in the basement. The switch is connected to a patch panel which connects all the rooms in the house. It also is connected to the cable modem (Fritz Box Cable Modem 6690/Router) for internet connection.
For testing purposes, I disconnected ALL rooms except the one I am writing currently from. So the switch is connected ONLY to the cable modem and the one room. The connection basically works. I can access the internet and download software. Doing an internet speed test also gives good results. But for example, where instability shows is when streaming to twitch. The connection is very unstable where streaming is not possible. Furthermore, when observing all connections in the Fritz Box, my computer (connected in the only room connected to the switch) occasionally disappears and is then listed in the unconnected devices list... All leds are blinking green!
Figure out the problem way #1:
So when I plug the cable modem(router) directly into the patch panels' port for this room, i.e. no switch used, the connection is perfect. No instabilities at all. The twitch stream is absolutely stable with 6000 kbps! => no wiring/inet problem
Figure out the problem way #2:
I happened to have another switch from DLink. I connected it the absolute same way as the Cisco switch and with it, the problem also disappears! Internet connection is very stable. => Switch problem
So the problem should be the Cisco switch right?
The question would be, could it be that I am using the Cisco Switch in a wrong way? I am using both switches the absolute same way, but the Cisco one does not work properly, the dlink on the other hand works very well.
All Leds are blinking green, so the 1 gbps connection should be there right? And this also means that no network connection mistakes were made?

- Check logs on the CBS11 0 (and or at regular times); look at the interface counters for the used interface.
+ Check logs on the Fritz Box too (if applicable)

@marce1000 sorry, but I do not know what you mean by logs on the CBS. The device is unmanaged so there is no access to it, I guess. I tried Ciscos' dashboard. Did not gave me anything.
Furthermore, Fritzbox is working absolutely well, I does not report anything.
At the moment, I have been doing a Twitch connection test for 1 hour already and I just got 1.4% frame dropped with the DLink Switch (30Euro device!) With the Cisco CBS switch, I get 60 % frame drops right at the beginning after a minute or so. And the Twitch Inspector also reports that there is a unstable connection nearly throughout the whole timespan of the connection. The Cisco CBS costed me 200 Euros!
The solution:
Ok. Amazon is just willing to do a refund! I can not spend more time on this issue unfortunately. It already took me a whole day to figure the problem out because I completely ruled out the "best"/most expensive component (i.e. the Cisco Switch) in the whole system.
An Amazon user also described nearly the same issue of having an unstable network connection.
I also called the Cisco support, but it seemed they did not wanted/could not help me, because I purchased the device on Amazon.
P.S. Here is the solution which is just working:
Working solution: Cisco Switch is abandoned! Very unfortunate.

- Still I think the local loop should be tested, meaning for instance connecting a PC to the Fritz Box directly and see if the problem goes away or not. With unmanaged switches you have no troubleshooting possibilities indeed,

@marce1000, well, I already did it, as described in the original post under "Figure out the problem way #1". I put the the FritzBox directly into the patch panel slot which leads to the "testing room" where the PC is connected. That also worked. This was the first thing I did after checking all the pinnings and everything else first and letting the thought through that the switch could eventually cause the problem... I do not have any mobile PC to do a totally direct connection to the FritzBox.
My initial thought was that a switch is nearly indestructible but I really think it is the switch. I already ordered a new one. 8 ports are way to little.
At the time of writing, I let the Twitch Inspector test just went on. It is at 4h 30min now and the dropped frames are down to 0.3%! Downstairs the kids are watching YT. The 30 Euro DLink switch is killing it right now.
I am very sorry, I bothered you with my problem and then solved it the way I did, but thanks for considering helping me and taking your time reading through my post.
