Cisco SG300-28 won't recover from reset

Recently pulled an old SG300 out of storage to use for a temporary environment.  After reseting the switch, the system light only rapidly blinks.  No ports will even show link, and the serial console provides no output, and unsurprisingly the switch is not available at the default IP.  Is there a "hard" reset procedure worth trying, or is it time for an RMA?

Good Morning,

You can process a hard reset on the following way:

  1. hold the reset button for 30 seconds and disconnect power cord from unit
  2. continue holding while the power cord is disconnect for another 30 seconds
  3. finally connect the power cord and hold for the last 30 seconds

In total you will hold the reset button for 90 seconds, allow between 5 to 10 minutes for the unit to boot up and connect a computer to the switch. Remember to set a static IP in your computer in the same subnet as the default IP of the switch.

If after this your are still unable to access or you don't have any activity on the Ethernet or Console port please contact tech support for an RMA.

Regards.
