Cisco SG500 & Sophos AP

Morning all,

Having some issues with my Sophos XG firewall adopting APs. I have narrowed it down to the config on my smart switch (SG500-28P) as it will work with a dumb switch that I connect to it and my firewall can see the AP.

The network is flat, with a few different cisco switches in the mix. I have successfully connected and adopted a few other APs via a netgear switch.

So, my question, is there any specific config I should be selecting on my SG500 to allow the APs to be seen and adopted? I can see power being used on the POE ports so know they are connecting. I had assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that the Smartport setup would detect the device and adjust the port settings appropriately. Any help would be great.

Hi,

The smartport macro will adjust settings depending on how you have configured it. You also need to check if the switch has detected the port properly and has applied the "WAP" macro on it.

Alternatively you can statically configure the ports and assign the correct VLANs.
