Compatibility of GBIC SFP-10G-LRM with SG550X / XG

Hello,

I have a question regarding the compatibility of GBIC SFP-10G-LRM with SG550X / XG.

In the datasheet https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/550x-series-stackable-managed-switches/datasheet-c78-735874.html these are not listed on the other hand in "Quick Start Guide "from SG550XG is on page 10 for support and again in" Quick Start Guide "for SG550X they are not listed.

Somehow I'm confused, because in the previous switch series SG500X, the GBIC SFP-10G-LRM were still compatible.

Is it really true that the GBIC SFP-10G-LRM is no compatible with the new Switch series SG550X / XG? or is the datasheet of SG550X / XG incomplete?

Thanks in advance

Manni

Hello Manni,

Yes, the datasheet information is correct - SFP-10G-LRM modules are not supported on the SG550X/XG series switches, although they are on the SG500 series.

We'll take a look at the information in the Quick Start Guides as well - thank you for bringing this question up.

Regards,

Rositsa

Hello Rositsa,

Thanks for the answer and pity that the SPF-10G-LRM is no longer supported in the 550X series.

The whitepaper:
https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/switches/250-series-smart-switches/guide-c07-740127.pdf
is also incorrect and should be changed.

If you already have 500 series with 10GBit in your environment where (OM1 and OM2 cables), you can not expand or migrate to the new series with the 550X series because the SPF-10G-LRM GBIC is not part of the new series anymore get supported.

sorry for my bad English

Best regards
Manni
