I want to eventually configure the SG300 to authenticate wired clients with 802.1x and Freeradius Server. I am currently testing this setup using a SG300 switch (on single port (Port 7)), a test machine (Windows 10), and an Ubuntu FreeRadius Server.
I have done the configuration on the switch following this link Configuring 802.1X on SG300 Series Switches, installed the freeradius server on ubuntu machine and added the switch as a client (NAS) in the clients.conf file (/etc/freeradius/clients.conf).
I connected the test machine to the port 7 (Unauthorized) but have some problems.
1. in the radius server we add user to allow it to work, what does this user reference to (the testing machine user name or what)?
2. how can we allow the testing machine to access the network as authorized user.
