failed Firmware-Upgrade on SG350-xxP: Illegal file format :-(

Hello to everyone

I'm currently trying to update the Firmware on three SG350-Switches. One is brand new (SG350-10P) and there I had no problems to step-up to the 2.4.5.71-Firmware.
With the other two devices (SG350-28P and SG350-28MP), after uploading the file I'm constantly receiving the failure "Illegal Software Format".  And I'm using the same file as used for the SG350-10P.....

The two switches which don't accept the file have an active & running FW-Version 2.3.5.63.

Anyone who can help?

Hello,

Try to upgrade with USB. Maybe you have some network issue.

Copy the image_tesla_hybrid_2.4.5.71_release_cisco_signed.bin to some USB Flash Drive, to the root.

Plug in the USB port and connect to console of the switch with blue console cable:

switchxxxxxx# config
switchxxxxxx(config)# boot system usb://image_tesla_hybrid_2.4.5.71_release_cisco_signed.bin

Wait for it to upload

Verify the boot sequence with:

switchxxxxxx# show bootvar

the freshly uploaded 2.4.5.71 should appear as inactive image with the comment: " Active after reboot "

If it is like this, reboot the switch with command:

switchxxxxxx# reload

Hope it helps.

Cheers,

Mike

Hello Mike

Thank you for your help - I connected with SSH, is that ok , too ??

Here the extract of the terminal:

***************************************************************

Directory of usb://

Permission File Size Last Modified File Name
---------- --------- -------------------- --------------------------------------
drwx 65536 07-Mar-2019 16:04:16 System Volume Information
-rwx 43487307 28-Feb-2019 20:53:18 image_tesla.bin

SG350-28P#config
SG350-28P(config)#boot system usb://image_tesla.bin
% Unrecognized command
SG350-28P(config)# boot system usb://image_tesla.bin
% Unrecognized command
SG350-28P(config)#

**********************************************************************

So there was no upload but the feedback "%Unrecognized command".
I checked the CLI-REF Guide, and I think I did not wrote something wrong ...

As you can see, the USB-Drive has the FW-file on it (just with shortened renaming).

My user rights is 15, so there shouldn't be any block for me.

Andy advise what I am doing wrong ?
