Internal Fans constantly running

I use a CISCO SG300 28MP-Port Gigabit PoE Managed Switch for my home's internally entertainment system.  It assists in running my Apple Airplay system across the six floors of my house, among other things.  It works fine.  But over the last six months or so, the unit's internal fans seem to run all the time.  The fan(s) are quite noisy.  The temperature of my house is not high - same as it has always been.  I would like to know if this indicates a problem, and get any possible causes and solutions.

Thanks for replying.  The system is pretty simple, and it is used to operate a number of apple airplay units and sound system speakers throughout my six-story building.  Due to the limited requirements of the system, there is no dashboard or other user interface.
