What kind of cable is required to connect to the Console on a Linksys SRW2024 switch ? ( I've lost the original cable )
I use the following settings: Speed 38400, 8 bits, no parity, no flow control and stop bits 1
I have tried a serial cable, no go.
I have tried a null modem cable with partial handshaking, no go.
I have tried a null modem cable with full handshaking, no go.
For the null modem cables, if I use it to connect between computers using hyperterminal it works very well. What I type on one computer appears on the other computer's screen.
However, I can't get anything out of the switch. I've tried pressing Enter repeatedly, resetting the switch with the Console cable on, etc.
Is it a special kind of cable for the console ?

George,
The console cable is the standard 9 prong female console cable.
When connecting via console, make sure the scroll lock is not enabled as that will freeze the curser and it will just blink and will not allow you to type or get into the switch.
