Monitoring SG200 with Nagios

Hi everyone,

I'm a tech Student at a small VoIP-Measurement-Softwarecompany and currently tasked to setup a network monitoring system (Nagios). The basic system and server / vm monitoring ist already working.

The next step is to inlcude our cisco switches (SG200-26) in the system. I'm currently able to check if they are alive via icmp/ping.

My supervisor wants to monitor the following additional tasks:

- Uptime

- active / connected Ports

- used Rx/Tx bandwith for individual Ports

- Switch CPU load

I'm planning to get the rquired data via SNMP, but my SNMP requests (asking for Uptime) are timing out. I'm not sure, if I'm doing right at the moment, so here are my questions:

How do I have to configure my Switch ? I only added die SNMP Community "public" at the moment.

which OID / MIBs do I have to use in my SNMP Requests to get the required Information ?

Greetings

Jan

Update:

I'm now able to get the uptime. I used the OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0 instead of sysUptime.0
