More fun with VLANs ...

The plot thickens ... I've made progress and found that my core CSW switches were setup (not by me) with VLAN10 as the default VLAN,  I of course went with the default and kept VLAN1.

I followed the Cisco process from the commonly cited video guide to changing your CBS350 default VLAN and set both CSW1 and CSW2 to VLAN1.

I also made sure the IP interface on the distribution switches DSW1 and DSW2 were in the 192.168.1.x subnet that is associated with VLAN1.

Now everything appears good except only VLAN1 192.168.1.x subnets can access the internet.  My users are on 192.168.10.x  VLAN10 and can't access DNS servers etc that are on 192.168.10.x subnet.  And devices on 192.168.1.x (VLAN1) cannot ping devices on 192.168.10.x (VLAN10) Weird.

Oh and I have interVLAN routing setup and working on the Core switches CSW1 and CSW2

Ive attached a screen shot of my VLAN Membership tables - default VLAN1 untagged and VLAN10 Tagged as well as InterVLAN routing for both switches.

I've just about worn out my brain on this - 4 days to recover from a power outage- yes I am investing on UPS but it might be cheaper to go solar with batteries

Any help appreciated.

Paul
