PoE fault on all the porst on CBS220

I have one CBS220-48P-4G running the latest firmware 2.0.2.15 (upgraded March, 22nd 2025).

I see that all the ports (doesn't matter if a device is connected to the port) show a PoE fault.

The issue started at April 6th, and the first couple of weeks the issue was intermittent. Now the PoE is faulty.

I have threee CBS220-24P-4G (24 ports and not 48 - same firmware 2.0.2.15) and PoE works properly.

Is this a hardware issue?

All the switches have been installed last January (4 months ago).

@vix hi, can you share the console log. there is specific error codes to identify the issue. this can be a hardware issue. is data connection working well when you test with non PoE device?

note - if its purchased recently, you can ask support from the reseller.

Hi @Kasun Bandara

sorry for my late answer.

Yes, the non PoE devices work well. And PoE devices work well too if I power them with an external power supply (if available).

How can I get the console log?

Is it possibile through webserver or should I connect through RS232 or ssh?

Hi @vix,

does the switch properly display its power budget?
Using the CLI you can issue the command "show power inline" to get an output similar to the example below:

CBS220# show power inline
Power management mode: Class limit mode
Legacy device support: Disabled
Unit Power Status Nominal Allocated Consumed Available Usage Traps
                      Power Power Power Power Threshold
---- ------- ------ --------- ---------------- ----------- ------------- ------ --------
 1 On Normal 375Watts 15Watts (4%) 5Watts 360Watts 95 Disable
Port State Status Priority Class Max. Power (mW) Alloc. Power (mW) Device
----- ----------- ---------- -------- ------- ---------------- ----------------- ------------------------
<list of port settings>

What does your device show especially for nominal power and available power?

You can also get the logs that Kasun mentioned via CLI using the command "show logging".

HTH!

@vix hi yes. you can connect to console port or check the device logs in GUI.
