Any increase in MTU above 1500 across my SG100-16 is causing a reduction in data copy performance, although large ICMP packets appear to be unmolested.
A system to system copy of a GB file at an MTU of 1500 achieves an average of 104MB/sec and the same copy at an MTU of 9000 results in a copy of 40 to 54MB/sec, and incremental increases in MTU above 1500 have a proportional effect on transfer speeds.
Is this switch just not able to deal with jumbo frames or does anyone have another possible cause for this issue.
Systems are both Dell OptiPlex 7110 so have Intel 82579LM rev 4 Ethernet chipsets and are both running Fedora 29 and both are idle with over 8GB system memory.
