We have a Toshiba MFP that uses 1 IP for B/W, 192.168.1.25, and we create a second printer for COLOR which uses 192.169.1.25_1.
We do this to allow printing BW anytime, but the user must enter a Group ID when they print in color.
The printer is simply shared with the appropriate drivers on an SBS 2008 server.
Added the SG200-50P a few weeks ago, and it appears there is some type of conflict with the switch using dual named IPs.
I have not run into this before - when installing the networked MFP on a workstation, both printers will install with no issues.
The BW printer works properly, and if you select "Color" instead of BW it prompts you for a password - this works properly.
If you attempt to print to the Color printer, you get a "not responding..." and it eventually shoots an invalid print job to the printer - no popup for a password. If you select "BW" instead of color, you get a "not responding..." and it eventually shoots an invalid print job to the printer.
By process of elimination, we figured out the dual named port was the culprit. SNMP had not been enabled on the SG200, so it was enabled and a Public and Private community were added.
All this had no effect - after saving/rebooting the switch, the workstations still have problems with the printer on 192.168.1.25_1.
Hoping someone has seen this before and can provide a clue.
