Go back to the person you bought it from and get it swapped out.

Hi
That is definitely an unusual case, considering that SG300-28 28-Port and SG300-10 10-Port Switches share the same firmware and boot code versions.
I first recommend you to load the latest boot code and firmware version to fix any type of corrupted files in the image.
When you encounter this error
"status: Copy
It is typical because the current boot code and firmware version loaded on the switch are really old and the switch itself won't allow you to jump all the way to the latest one unless you upgrade to a version in between.
If this is the case, you need to load the latest boot code 1.3.5.06 first using a
After this, go ahead and reboot the switch.
After the switch is back on, go ahead and load the firmware 1.4.0.88 following switch reboot.
Then once switch is back on, go ahead and finally load the latest version 1.4.7.06
Latest firmware available
Latest boot code available
I hope this information is useful for you.
