Operating a SG300-10 on my home office network. I originally experienced issues backing up the startup and/or running config. Specifically, attempts to backup caused the switch to reboot. This occurs whether the attempt is made through the web interface or CLI, local or remote SCP or TFTP. Recently the switch has been rebooting under emergency events every night, seemingly at or around the same time. The log shows the following:
Emergency |
%SYSLOG-F-OSFATAL: FATAL ERROR: CNLD: ABORT PREFETCH exception ***** FATAL ERROR ***** SW Version : 1.4.7.6 |
As you can see, the firmware is the most recent available. To attempt to remedy the issue I have done factory resets, reverted firmware to older versions, changed STP operation modes, enabled and disabled SNTP, basically anything I can try to see if it affects this behavior.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would say you have a hardware defect and need to get the switch replaced.

That's what I was suspecting but not hoping for considering it was an Amazon purchase.

For anyone that is interested, the issue was NOT hardware related. Rather, it appears that the information I entered into the Login & Welcome Banner was crashing the switch. I have yet to test for the timing related issue. However, backups work fine again after removing the information. Cisco should really be informed.
