sg300 multicast problem

I am trying to configure multicast on a pair of SG300 switches. My source devices are a TV transcoder which puts out 23 channels, each on a seperate multicast address (224.1.1.x), and an IP CCTV camera outputting on 224.1.1.100. These connect using a single gigabit port each.

Only the default VLAN (1) is required.

Do I need to enable Bridge multicast filtering?

Do I need a separate group multicast address for each channel?

Apart from enabling IGMP snooping, and assigning one switch as the querier, is anything else required?

IPTV decoder boxes (multicast receivers) connect to the other ports on both switches.

I have a pair of 2960s switches which allow the multicast perfectly, so the end equipment is not an issue.

Hi,

By default switch would forward multicast on all the ports, same broadcast domain. So that should just work out of the box.

However if you would like to limit this traffic only to the respective ports you may enable:

1. enable multicast bridging -  http://sbkb.cisco.com/CiscoSB/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=a9e99eb72fcd433f8923f8f52cf2786f_Configuring_Multicast_Forwarding_Properties.xml&pid=2&respid=0&snid=7&dispid=0&cpage=search

2. enable IGMP snooping - http://sbkb.cisco.com/CiscoSB/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=c10b4817c7a24c7fa8536a8c65d99ff1_Configuring_IGMP_Snooping.xml&pid=2&respid=0&snid=7&dispid=0&cpage=search

3. check dynamically created IGMP groups and add statically if any is missing - http://sbkb.cisco.com/CiscoSB/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=06fd0ae74b9a4c638250ad55e1bfcaed_Adding_IP_Multicast_Group_Addresses_on_Cisco_Smart_Switches.xml&pid=2&respid=0&snid=18&dispid=0&cpage=search

3. filter unregistered multicast - http://sbkb.cisco.com/CiscoSB/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=d7a74c453c7f4ac7819895fcc8e19542_Configuration_of_Unregistered_Multicast_on_Sx500_Series_Stac.xml&pid=2&respid=0&snid=7&dispid=0&cpage=search

Please let me know if you have any question.
