SG350X-24P: PoE not working on some ports any more

Hello,

I own a SG350X-24P which worked flawlessly until today. Now several ports don't supply PoE power any more. Resetting and power cycle didn't help.

Now I get the following after checking "show power inline" at the CLI prompt:

Unit Module Nominal Consumed Temp (C) PSE chipset  Power (W) Power (W) HW Revision
---- -------------- --------- ------------ -------- -----------------
1 SG350X-24P 185 26 (14%) 58 PD69208 - 0x4AC2

PD69208 - 0x4AC2
PD69208* - 0x4AC2
PD69204 - 0x4AC2

Please note the "*" after "PD69208" in line 3. This * was never there before and I expect that it means "problem with this PoE controller". The non-powered PoE PD-devices work without trouble on other ports (i.e. devices on gi1/0/9 ~ gi1/0/11 are all not-powered, (12~ 15 are non-PoE devices). If I move the PoE PD-device from gi1/0/9 to gi1/0/1 it is immediatly powered by the cisco SG350x-24p.

Please advise what to do.

Regards,

  Carsten

Thanks for your prompt reply. Actually I tried this and they asked me for a "Cisco ID". I don't have a support contract, but I expect a hardware issue (and in this case I expect that I wont need a support contract).

Hi,

Thanks for your answer. I talked to support and they sent me a ticket number and they will open a RMA case.

so what was the problem? how to fix it?

Hello krufka,

The device was simply broken. A hardware replacement under the device warranty (RMA) was necessary. It seems to me that the devices with hardware version "V01" are susceptible to this problem. I now have a SG350X-24P with hardware version V04 and so far no problems. This device uses a different PoE controller chip.
