SG500-52P trunk using 1000BASE-SX SFP

I am attempting to trunk a SG500-52P and SG500-28P using fiber LC to LC and 1000BASE-SX SFPs.  The interfaces show Operational Status DOWN in the GUI, but I have the ports configured to trunk and all VLANs that need to pass traffic in the CLI.  Is there something else that needs to be done to bring up this trunk?  Firmware version 1.4.2.4 Boot Version 1.4.0.02.  Thank You for any suggestions/assistance.

What is the part number of the SFP you are using?

The SG500 doesn't use 'normal' 1000Mbps SFPs:

The model number for the SFP that they are trying to use is MGBSX1SFP.
