SLM2008 8-Port Gigabit Smart Switch with PD and AC Power

I have two questions about this device which I hope someone will answer for me...

I notice in the specifications for my so far unused

SLM2008 8-Port Gigabit Smart Switch with PD and AC Power devices it says

802.3af PoE-PD compatible on Port 1. Supply system power without an external power adapter... POE 802.3af PoE-PD compatible on Port 1. Supply system power without an external power adapter

Question 1:
I don't have any devices that could supply Power Over Ethernet to this switch, so can I still use Port 1 as an input port from the LAN2 connection on my Huawei HQ824Q2 Optical Network Device/Router or must I leave Port 1 empty if my intention is to power the switch with the AC Adapter?

Question 2:
I notice that the specification for this device in the Administrators Guide
"Cisco SLM2008AG Smart Switch.pdf" on Page 57, states that there are "5 RJ-45 connectors for 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX/ 1000BASE-T Auto MDI/MDI-X Autonegotiate/Manual Setting"

Is there some reason the 3 of the 8 ports in the switch are not useable or can I use all 8 of them (or at least 7... depending on the answer to my first question regarding Port 1)?

Hello,

1. There is no problem to use the first port of the switch as a normal network port as well.

2. All 8 ports are usable network ports.
