Hi all,
I tried to upgrade IOS on WS-C2960G-24TC-L from c2960-lanbasek9-mz.150-2.SE10 to c2960s-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE10.
For some reason the boot failed and generated the following error:
Loading "flash:c2960s-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE10.bin"...Bootable image segment 1 address range [0x2000000, 0x3245d58] not in range [0x0, 0x317fffc].
Error loading "flash:c2960s-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE10.bin"
Interrupt within 5 seconds to abort boot process.
I thought c2960s-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE10 shoudl work fine on C2960G but it didn't even boot up.
It is the same version but different binary.
Anyone can advise about the compatibility please?
Thank you in advance.
Regards

you are forcing C2960S firmware into classic C2960 switch. That's why you cant boot.

Thx Michal for your comment.
I thought it will still boot, the binary is different but the platform is the same.

You shouldn't expect a help from anybody if you obviously tries to use firmware for different switch model. Even if the platform is same, I am pretty sure that Cisco makes sure, that it will not work cross the different switch models in order to avoid using additional features on models which shouldn't have them.
