I need to upgrade Firmware on two Cisco switches SG300-10 to the latest version 1.4.8.06. Those switches have currently installed version 1.0.0.27. So, there are 15 Firmware releases in between those two. Can someone please suggest what would be the correct process to accomplish this upgrade?

Cisco Tech Support suggested the below solution.

To have Firmware upgraded from the oldest version (1.0.0.27) to the latest version (1.4.8.06), you need to install several times interim Firmware versions and upgrade once the Boot Code. Every time the interim Firmware loaded, the Network Switch should be rebooted to that version. Follow the bellow installation order:

1. Firmware version: 1.2.7.76    sx300_fw-12776.ros

2. Firmware version: 1.3.0.59    sx300_fw-13059.ros

3. Firmware version: 1.3.5.58    Sx300_FW_Boot_1.3.5.58.zip

                                                 sx300_fw-13558.ros         - Firmware

                                                 sx300_boot-13506.rfb    - Boot Code

4. Firmware version: 1.4.0.88    Sx300_FW_Boot_1.4.0.88.zip

                                                 sx300_fw-14088.ros        - Firmware

5. Firmware version: 1.4.1.03    Sx300_FW_Boot_1.4.1.03.zip

                                                 sx300_fw-1413.ros           - Firmware

6. Firmware version: 1.4.8.06    sx300_fw-1486.ros

You can read this post and the answer from Gustavo Suarez https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/small-business-switches/sg300-firmware-upgrade-copy-illegal-software-format/td-p/2509897 , he did an upgrade like yours, you have only to upgrade also from 1.4.5.02 to 1.4.8.06
