Then, I connected 2960x switch using same 10 Gb LR sfp to 6509. worked fine.
also I connected 2960x to 4500x on 10 Gb worked fine as well.

Hi Azeem,
The 10Gig interfaces on the 6500 series are SC. Can you disconnect the 6500 side of the fiber and switch the fiber strands around and test again?
Basically switch the blue and red strands.

And one more thing, is the optic on the 6500 LR as well?

Yes. the optic on 6500 is X2 10 Gb LR. I switched the fiber strands didn't worked.
the head scratching thing is on 6500 the interface status is "Connected" but on the 4500 it is not.
I configured both the ports as trunk and changed their native VLAN, by doing that I was able to see the NATIVE VLAN MISMATCH error message. that means the switches can read the information but why the interface status is not connected have no idea.
also I tried to ping point to point IP but no reply.
anything I can do to fix this.
Thanks.
