10gb wan link fails between 2 VSS switches. (sup720-2t ).

I have 2 sets of VSS switches in 2 data centres, and have 2 10GB links between the 2 locations. If I connect either 1 or both of the links between the 2 VSS systems the link connects and shows on the switches as up. I see the cdp relationship work, but I cannot ping the other end of the link, and my eigrp neighbour relationship does not establish.

If I connect these two links to a non VSS system at one end both come up and ip flows correctly. This is done using the same fibres and optics so that hardware is proved.

Have tried ports on the sup720-2t, the 6708 10 gb card.

Any thoughts would be received with thanks

Hi,

The links connecting 2 VSS sets should be fully meshed (4 links) using one portchannel

Is this your setup?

Sorry, I didn't make itclearer. I have two complete and working VSS systems, all with the meshed 10gb links for the virtual port channels.

This is a link between the two sets, and if the links would come up would also be a meshed link. So this is just a normal link between two switches.
