1721 + WIC-1ENET

Hallo,

I have a Cisco 1721 router, with a WIC-1ENET (single port ethernet) WIC in 0.

Ethernet0 - 10.220.1.10 / 255.255.255.0

Fastethernet0 - 10.0.0.11 / 255.255.0.0

I am trying to route the Fastethernet0 to Ethernet0 (the WIC).

as...

0.0.0.0 / 0.0.0.0 - 10.220.1.1 (on Ethernet0)

I can ping both networks and computers from the 1721, however I cannot ping through the router from one network address to the other.

I am assuming that this is either a routing issue, or NAT.

The nat is 10.0.0.0 / 0.0.255.255 - Ethernet0.

Can any one explain why this isnt working?

I can post the config if desired,

thanks!!

- Brody

Hi Brody,

I think 10.220.1.1 is the deafult gw of the host on 10.220.1.0/24 so if these hosts want to reach the network 10.0.0.0/16 then 10.220.1.1 should be configured to route back the 10.220.1.0/24 to 10.220.1.10. If you can post the whole config the NAT config can be checked as well.

Hope if helps, rate if does.

Krisztian, sure!

(only edit is the beginning and end brackets, and i removed the MD5 sum (XXXX)

I hope this helps, as I have a 1800 configured almost identically and it works.. (confused?)

Please have a look, maybe i'm missing something..

I look forward to your reply,

Thanks!

- Brody

here is the -re'attached config..

(for edit: had to remove the other admin md5 sum)

fixed the problem myself.. t'was logically ilogical..

WHY THE HELL WOULD..

' no ip route '

be put via the SDM into the config?

I guess old school config's are the way to go..
