2 Cisco 9500 stackwise virtual connecting via port-channel

Hi

We have TWO Cisco 9500 stackwise virtual switches. (in each stackwise 2 switches - Active & Standby)

One is in Comms Room at Admin building and other at Factory.

We need to connect those using 4 link in port channel over fiber connection.

1 port channel of 4 interfaces in each SV.

Port-channel 1 on downlink SV pair will have the ports – 1/0/44, 1/0/45, 2/0/44, 2/0/45

Port-channel 10 on uplink SV pair will have ports - 1/0/44, 1/0/45, 2/0/44, 2/0/45

These interfaces will connect as per diagram on fiber optic link.

Is there another best way for this connection or Is this going to work ?

They look "OK" but those cross-connects are "over-kills", in my humble opinion.

Hi Leo, thanks for your response.
Do you mean we really don't need 4 cables ?
planned 4 because its 4 switches considering all possible switch failover.

My opinion is based on one failed switch and having two (or more) switches failed is not going to work.
But if you've got two (or more) switches failing, then having "X" amount of uplinks is the least of your problem.
It won't hurt to have so many uplinks. Some people have no qualms about it but for those who's got a tight budget, it is different.
Again, just my opinion.
