After some years some switches have loosen the possibility of telnet and ssh. I can ping the switch but telnet and ssh either locally or remote don't work.
No way to manage the switches. The only way to access to this switches is by serial connection. Once I am connected by serial I review the show running configuration and the ip domain name and rsa key configuration have dissapeared. If I configure ip domain name and then I generate rsa key again then ssh works fine.
Do you know why this configuration can be lost?

Hi
The configuration will not disappear unless the switches were rebooted and the SSH config was not saved before. Other option is that someone deleted that config.
I dont think the a bug can delete the config but you should verify if your IOS is not too old. you could upgrade them. I think one of the recent IOS for 2960 switch model is 12.2.58-SE2
Hope it is useful

Please DO NOT use 12.2(58)SE train. Stick with the more mature (and stable) 12.2(55)SE train.

Thanks Leo for the heads up.

Hi Julio,
Thanks for your answer.
A few weeks ago the same happened on other switches and for this reason we know that we can enter by serial connection and we saw that the problem was that that configuration had disappeared. Once inside we saw that the switch had not been reloaded (show version) and we do not think that anyone has entered the switches, because we are the only people that have access to this switches and in the same location only some switches have had this issue.
Regards.
