2960G upgrade - differences between IOS 12.x and 15.x branches?

I have several Cisco Catalyst 2960G-48TC-L switches that need to be updated to enable LLDP support. When I checked the IOS releases for this switch, these are listed as current:

15.0.1-SE(ED)  26-Jul-2011

12.2.58-SE2(ED)  27-Jul-2011

Is there a document that explains the differences between the 12.x branch and the 15.x branch?
