2960X stack adding sfp, but hardware not present.

I have 2 2960Xs in a stack. One switch has a pair of 1GB sfps up and working normally. I need to add another sfp to the second switch, but when I insert the sfp and do a show int is shows hardware not present, goes for both ports. Doing shut/no shut on the port(s) doesn't change a thing. I can't find much other than reloading the switch to get it to recognize the sfp. I've never had this happen before. Stack is running older code, 15.0(2)EX5.Switching

Hi

Are using a supported Cisco SFP? usually, as you mentioned, no reload is required.

That type of optic should work.
When the optics was inserted, what did the logs say?

Nothing in the sh log.

Hello,

what is GLC-SX-MMO ? You mean GLC-SX-MMD ? Can you post a picture of the SFP ?
