2960x stacking help

Hi,

We have 3 2960X connected in stack. Out of them one of memeber blewed off.

We have received RMA device.

We want to add member to existing stack replacing the dead switch.

please guide proper steps for installation.

1. Make sure the new switch has exactly the same firmware as the rest of the stack.
2. Install the replacement switch.
3. POWER OFF the replacement switch.
4. Connect the stacking cable to the replacement switch.
5. Power on the replacement switch.

do i need to preconfigure switch before adding to stack ??

switch member number or switch priority settings??

You can but its optional , once the correct image is on it will sync with the rest of the stack

Hi there,

Simply remove the dead switch, cable in the new one with the same image version and power it on.

The stack config will already have been pre-provisioned, so once the new switch joins the stack it will be configured as it comes online.
