Im studying for a ccna cert and a friend gave me a 2960x switch but I am currently coming across this issue. My 2960x kept going through post every 5 to 10 minutes so i decide to upgrade the ios. after i upgraded it got stuck on the SWITCH: prompt. I could not fix it via tftp so i decided to use an usb flash drive. therefore I was able to upgrade the ios and get it working. but now im getting 2 problems 1 is that once i reboot the switch it goes back into switch: prompt. the other one is that eventually i will get this message. I apologize in advance for the long post.
The system is unable to boot automatically. The BOOT
environment variable needs to be set to a bootable
image.
Any ideas or advice will be greatly appreciated.
