3560E-12D-S Access Role?

Hi folks,

Is it possible to use the 3560E-12D-S as an access layer switch to connect 10G servers via the X2 10G modules?

One of our subsidiaries has bought one already and asked me to deploy.

To be honest I've never seen any aggregation based designs I've only worked on networks that went straight Core > Edge.

Hi,

Yes, you can use it as an access switch.  This switch comes with 12 10Gig ports.

Yeah you can use this switch like access layer switch, no restriction, but don't forget this device don't have wire rate backplane, 60 Gbps, backplane utilization 2:1 oversubscribed.
