Solved: 3650 stack compatibility

Hi ,

We have one switch of 3650 . Need to add another switch to production.

Master hardware ver v03 software 03.07.03E cat3k_caa-universalk9 INSTALL

Switch to be added:

Hardware Version V04 Software 03.06.04.E cat3k_caa-universalk9 INSTALL

Will they be able to work if I add these 2 switches in the stack.

I know normally we should have the same hardware and software version.

Hi

Its the software versions that are more important they should match exactly , platforms can vary in stacks , if not you will only partially form the stack and could be missing features between the switches , I would advise you to match them to form a stack correctly and fully

As Mark has already suggested, matching IOS versions can avoid many issues. As he also suggested, the hardware versions shouldn't really matter.
