3750 Failure-Fan

i've tried 2 power supplies and reload the switch. One of the power supplies is brand new out of the box. The power supplies work fine in another switch. All fans are spinning. All POST tests passed. For some reason the switch is still reporting Failure-Fan. Maybe a software bug? IOS image is c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-50.SE.bin. Switch seems to be operating as normal. Temperature Value: 31 Degree Celsius. i'm not able to clear this failure-fan which generates snmp alerts. any ideas?

Hi Steve,

What is the model of the switch?

Could probably beCSCsy9272

Switch Ports         Model                    SW Version            SW Image

------      -----           -----                        ----------                      ----------

     1     54     WS-C3750E-48PD      12.2(50)SE            C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M

Yes, looks like we are seeing CSCsy9272

Symptom:<
PS displays Failure-Fan status only with switches require a PoE.

 Conditions:

The "show env all" displays "Failure-Fan" in Status after upgrading an IOS
version to 12.2(50)SE on WS-C3560E-48PD and WS-C3750E-48PD. However there is no
problem with 12.2(46)SE.

 Workaround:

 No workaround exists.

thanks for your help. do you know if  IOS ver 12.2.(58)SE2 would fix this?

Hi Steve,

The bug id is CSCsy92762 , typo!

Yes, it is fixed in 12.2(50)SE3 onwards.
